Get to grips with life on an ocean-going yacht on this-eight day course. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an amateur small boat sailor, our professional skippers and mates will show you the basics of yacht sailing. You’ll learn all of the personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship skills necessary to become a useful member of crew on board a large racing yacht.
This is the part where you are transformed from a competent crew member into a safe, efficient racing sailor. This exciting eight day course will introduce you to all aspects of racing on board an ocean-going yacht.
This is your chance to put your knowledge into practice in a simulated race environment. You already know how to sail and how to race; now you will learn how to use those skills as part of a race strategy.
A Foundation Degree for the commercial yachting industry. You can now work towards a formal qualification in yachting as part of your big boat training, thanks to this Foundation Degree from Falmouth Marine School in association with Clipper Training.
While the Clipper Training programme forms the bedrock of this new course, you can also choose from an extensive range of specialist modules offered by Falmouth Marine School, including communication at sea, marine engineering and ocean passage planning.
