Clipper Training - Sailing Courses and Yacht Training
Clipper Training was set up by legendary round the world sailor, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, and is run by a dynamic group of professional sailors who possess a wealth of experience in equipping crew members with the skills and knowledge needed for ocean yacht racing. Its unique approach inspires confidence in individuals to tackle challenging situations and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
Clipper Training has now opened up this incredible training experience to members of the public who may not necessarily have the time, money or desire to join the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. As a trainee you will still receive the same high level of instruction from world-class sailors but you can undertake the course at your own pace.
Sailing Courses
Clipper Training has now trained over 1800 people who intend to race across the oceans and around the world as part of the Clipper Race. The experience and expertise that has been gained during this process is second to none, and has enabled Clipper Training to develop a training scheme unlike any other.
Support Courses
Yachting is one of the safest leisure activities and hopefully you will never have to deal with a serious emergency situation. However it is a well proven fact that in the event of an emergency at sea, people who have received training are more likely to survive. Clipper Training runs a number of shore-based courses to top up your safety knowledge.
The Yachts
Clipper operates two fleets of ocean racing yachts. The Classic fleet of Clipper 60s with their amazing history and the current race fleet of ten purpose built Clipper 68s; the largest fleet of identical ocean racing yachts in the world.
